Are Golden Goose sneakers going out of style? Are the velcro sneakers going out of style? How long are cowboy boots going to stay in style? These and more questions we answered in last weekend’s ‘Ask Me Anything’ on Instagram. We’re recapping our answers here in a shoppable post because these questions made us think and of course do some shopping for you.
Are Golden Goose going out of style?
No and kind of. Let us explain. At one point several years ago, everyone was wearing Golden Goose. The Golden Goose brand had a moment. In our opinion, they are still just as popular, but now the overarching sneakers trend has grown so that many other brands are also having a moment. This is the best kind of pattern a trend could take because your beloved Golden Goose haven’t lost their value and there are other, more affordable brands that are just as popular: New Balance, Adidas, and Isabel Marant are some of the other brands having a major moment right now. Smaller brands we love include Voile Blanche, GHOUD Venice, Autry, Hogan, Hoff, and Philippe Model.
When it comes to Golden Goose specifically, we recommend that if you are going to invest in the brand now, to go with a neutral pair and to keep all tags and boxes so that you can resell them if the brand does start to fade or you simply decide they aren’t for you anymore. We have the same thoughts on Velcro sneakers as we do Golden Goose. We don’t think they’ll go out of style soon because of the momentum the sneakers trend in general has, but we recommend a neutral pair and keeping the box!

How Long Will CoOwboy Boots Be In Style?
This was the hardest question we received. You have to know that trends are very cyclical. I remember when we were in middle school and cowboy boots were so popular; but, cowboy boots are something that I feel never truly went totally out of style. We always seem them here and there even when they’re not overtly ‘trendy.’ Now they’re back in a big way — but what we feel is even bigger, is the flair of Western we’re seeing in outfits in general. We recommend buying Western-esque accessories or denim that will last for years — if you love the cowboy boot look, snag a pair that aren’t crazy expensive in case the trend does phase out sooner than we think.
Trends are cyclical — out one day and in the next. It’s too much to keep up with. Instead of getting so caught up in the next shiny thing, work on defining your personal style and wearing what you like. Find the colors and styles that flatter your body type and coloring and stick with those to build out your wardrobe. Then you can sprinkle in affordable, trendy items each season that you want to try. This season for us it was a pop of red (bought this sweater from Zara) and metallic pants (also bought these from Zara).
